I Love The Motorcycling Community
Made it across the border and back into the USA today. Hopefully I haven’t exacerbated the mechanical issue my bike is having by continuing to ride it.
A HUGE thank you to everyone that has assisted in coordinating and sending help, helping me troubleshoot and diagnose what the problem might be (Dakar is the bestest friend any motorcyclist could have), waited for me in Mexico and escorted me out to make sure I made it, and offered assistance… from offers to Paypal me $$ - to homes to stay in - to trucks and trailers to take my bike wherever it needs to go… folks lining up to try and assist me in any way they could.
Needless to say, help is on the way and my bike will be on a trailer tomorrow… then off to be given some well deserved TLC by a good mechanic. I will also have a home to stay in while my bike is being worked on.
The moto-community never ceases to amaze me with the range and magnitude of its generosity. Something about the sport of motorcycling seems to attract the most generous people on the planet.
Saying “thank you” just doesn’t seem to embody the extent of my deep gratitude to everyone for everything they have done.
Hey there
John
We met in K.C. at the airport bike show and I really enjoyed talking to you.
I’m sorry to read of your troubles but a set of sprockets and a new chain shouldnt be to much $$$
I hope you can continue your trip south, maybe all the way to the southern most point in South America ? That would be AWSOME !!!
GOOD LUCK and RIDE SAFE !!!
