We had rain and fog and more rain on our ride up only a few days before you. Did you like the 9 miles of 'boulders' as one rider put it? I thought it was fun. The hardest for us was the last 40 miles of loose gravel/dirt. But it was much improved on the way back. Glad you didn't find what every put the hole in my tire on the north side of Atigun. Dan didn't have a new one for me either. Wasn't Dan a hoot? Oh - and don't tell everybody how much pavement there is on that road (with more around Wiseman in the works). This was to be the macho oh my I can't believe you did that scary ride ride - not the there was how much pavement ride... ;o) Ride safe LD! Hey, that’s not fair! The runners literally race up the mountain for more than a mile, then back down all while negotiating scree fields, cliffs, and razor sharp rocks. It is an amazing site to see.
